Reviving the rare art of original stained glass in Bangalore since 2010.
Our story
Glasshopper is all about reviving the rare art of original Tiffany-style stained glass in Bangalore. From shining sun-catchers to massive door panels, from corporate gifts in all shapes and sizes to stunning Tiffany-styled glass lampshades — the common thread in all these creations is intricate lead work that fuses over 200 shaded, coloured and textured glass pieces together.
Started in 2010 in Bangalore, Glasshopper has already beautified homes, workplaces, restaurants and stores with its unique and exclusive work.
Everything made at Glasshopper is handmade, which means every piece can be customised — different colour combinations, sizes and shapes are all welcome. You are invited to our beautiful studio in Indiranagar to discuss ideas and experiment together.
Glasshopper is focused on innovating through new designs for charms and commissioned work alike. Customisation is encouraged because it brings together new ideas, and that is where the magic happens.
The founder
Sarus Nirhali — lawyer turned stained glass artist — started Glasshopper out of a deep desire to blend colours and textures, and to bring the force of stained glass art into everyday life. She has been teaching stained glass and mosaics since 2011.
"I feel inspired by the creative desire to unbind stained glass art — not to restrict it to panels or murals, but to bring it to daily objects. After all, what would life be without art? What would it be without colour?"
— Sarus Nirhali
